HomeAid Builds
We work with 501(c)(3) nonprofit care providers who offer services/shelter to all levels of the homeless population.
WHO WE SERVE?
We work with 501(c)(3) nonprofit care providers who offer services/shelter to all levels of the homeless population. This may include individuals, families with children, and veterans. These care providers become HomeAid Houston agency partners!
Care Providers that meet the current vetting process of all HomeAid Projects.
New Construction Project or Renovation Project that will cost/or be valued at more than $100,000 to complete.
WHAT PROJECTS DO WE BUILD?
We build residential (Bricks & Sticks) buildings that serve your clients. Projects may include a new Life Skills Center, Transitional Supportive Housing, Group Living, Offices, and many other facilities that will allow your agency to grow its programming and provide the beds you need to serve the community.
HOW DO WE HELP?
HomeAid Houston opens the door to the Greater Houston Builders Association membership, some of the most generous people you will ever meet.
Our builders/committee members and staff will work with your agency from the “vision to the ribbon” of your project.
Whether you have a piece of land already to build on, or you need advice prior to the purchase, we can help, our mentors will work with you, answer questions and give you their expertise to make the process understandable to all involved.
FINANCIALLY, HOW WILL THIS HELP MY AGENCY?
HomeAid Houston will recruit a Builder Captain from the GHBA membership, that builder will then work with their trades and vendors to donate materials and labor towards your project—saving the average agency 45% to 58% depending on the size, location, and complexity of the project.
The agency will raise funds (Capital Campaign, Foundations, etc.…) for the build and will need to be able to show their ability to maintain the new buildings, and additional budgetary costs associated going forward.
WHAT WILL THE BUILDER & CARE PROVIDER RECEIVE?
HomeAid will provide a full range of media coverage, this will include Billboard Placement, Articles in Builder Magazine, Houston Chronicle, and all Social Medial outlets during and after the Project. This provides a higher profile for both the Care Provider and much-needed recognition for the Builder Captain and their trades/vendors.
DO ALL PROJECTS GET SELECTED?
Unfortunately, no. The vetting process is very thorough and detailed, and we will be asking for documentation in finance, board, programming, and outcomes of services. We will reach out to every agency that applies and visit with you about your project. Even if you are not chosen for a HomeAid Build Project, there may be other ways HomeAid Houston can help your agency!
