Santa Maria Hostel
HomeAid Houston's very first project was completed in 2005. HomeAid Houston partnered with Beazer Homes, Davis Brothers Construction, and Lennar Homes to build Santa Maria Hostel's Bonita House, a 199-bed facility. This large-scale construction project included building eight administrative and residential facilities. The residential buildings included 60 apartment units and two 16-bed dormitories. This was the first of several projects HomeAid Houston has completed for Santa Maria Hostel.
Santa Maria Hostel provides housing and services to single, pregnant, and parenting women, female veterans, and their children who are facing homelessness and struggling to rebuild their lives. Santa Maria Hostel is one of the largest multi-site residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment centers in Texas. The agency's mission is to empower women and their children to become alcohol and drug free. Through Santa Maria Hostel's services, clients may complete substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation, acquire parenting skills, develop job readiness skills, set and attain educational and employment goals, gain critical life skills, and obtain permanent housing. Clients progress toward achieving improved mental and physical health, family functioning, and economic stability to support a drug and violence-free lifestyle.
