Santa Maria Hostel
HomeAid Houston partnered again with Greymark Construction to complete a second project for Santa Maria Hostel. The project was a reception area renovation for Santa Maria Hostel's Bonita House. The project included a brand-new reception desk, with new countertops, cabinets, and storage, new flooring and paint, and electrical services. HomeAid Houston originally built The Bonita House, a 199-bed facility, back in 2005 as HomeAid Houston's very first construction project.
Santa Maria Hostel provides housing and services to single, pregnant, and parenting women, female veterans, and their children who are facing homelessness and struggling to rebuild their lives. Santa Maria Hostel is one of the largest multi-site residential and outpatient substance abuse treatment centers in Texas. The agency's mission is to empower women and their children to become alcohol and drug-free. Through Santa Maria Hostel's services, clients may complete substance abuse treatment and rehabilitation, acquire parenting skills, develop job readiness skills, set and attain educational and employment goals, gain critical life skills, and obtain permanent housing. Clients progress toward achieving improved mental and physical health, family functioning, and economic stability to support a drug and violence-free lifestyle.
