De George at Union Station

HomeAid Houston and Darling Homes partnered together to remodel De George at Union Station's community kitchen. The project included new flooring, cabinets, countertops, appliances, plumbing, lighting, painting, a sink, and plumbing fixtures.

The De George at Union Station serves both male and females by helping identify mental and physical health issues and helping locate appropriate service providers and treatment options. The De George at Union Station offers residents independence with individual and furnished bedrooms and provides a number of services, including basic household items upon arrival (bed linens, towels, hygiene products, etc.), on-site services from Harris County Health Department, Houston Bar Association, VA Regional Office, Social Security, etc., access to office equipment (computer station, fax machine, copy machine, etc.), emergency food pantry, van transportation, library, limited free parking, easy access to the light rail system and Metro bus, and more.
