Covenant House
HomeAid Houston and Charanza Contracting Inc. completed a two-story renovation project for Covenant House's administration building, originally built in the 1930s. The project included redesigning and renovating the entryway and reception area, converting an existing conference room into additional office space, and other refurbishments to the remaining office space and bathroom.
Covenant House Crisis Shelter serves homeless youth, ages 18 to 24. The shelter offers a Youth Engagement Center that provides day services and facilities which include meals, laundry, clothing, showers, and recreational activities. They also have access to a clinic. The Safe Haven Program provides case managers to assess needs and develop individualized plans for each client and free healthcare. Shelter residents are assigned advisors who work with the youth, other agencies, and family members to develop a plan that will return the youth to a stable living arrangement or transition to independent living.
