Abigail's Place & Attack Poverty
HomeAid Houston and Chesmar Homes are looking forward to working with Abigail's Place and Attack Poverty, two agencies that are partnering together to build new transitional housing in Richmond, Texas. The project will include building 2 new duplexes.
Abigail's Place is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization serving displaced single-mother families in Fort Bend County by offering emergency housing support. Their mission is to serve single mothers who are facing homelessness due to circumstances beyond their control. These circumstances can include the loss of a job, an illness, losing a family member who was the breadwinner, or fleeing domestic violence.
Attack Poverty’s Mission is to empower people to attack poverty in their life and community by strengthening under-resourced communities through spiritual growth, education, revitalization, and basic needs. Attack Poverty gives people the tools to help themselves break out of the cycle of generational poverty. The focus is on development, not charity and dignity, not shame.
