HOMEAID WORKS WITH TWO LOCAL BUILDERS ON CONROE CHARITY PROJECT

HomeAid Houston, a 501 (c) (3) charity of the Greater Houston Builders AssociationAngel Reach, a Conroe area non-profit that serves homeless youth who have aged out of Foster Care or were released early from the program, is receiving a much-needed addition in housing for their campus.  HomeAid has facilitated new construction by partnering with two local builders who are helping to build three duplexes, the first phase of a planned 9 duplex project consisting of 18 units.

HomeAid is working with Builder Captains Eric Maksym with Starter Homes of Texas and John Wynn with Vanguard Builders who will provide the construction.  These duplexes will house four youth working in the Angel Reach program, providing a safe, nurturing environment that will also enhance the continuing education path the youth are on to acquire GED/HS diplomas, higher education and or life skills training.

Starter Homes of Texas, LLC has been serving the Montgomery County community for over 10 years.  Their brand fills a need in the housing market for the first-time home buyer, the down-sizing buyer and the investor who wants a great value. Vanguard Builders provides turnkey single family and multi-unit properties to investors seeking above average cash flow.  They identify land in underserved neighborhoods and “infill lots”, and build new properties for investors.  Vanguard Builders also builds properties for investors who already own lots or parcels of land and want to develop the land and build single family or multi-unit properties on the site.  Vanguard builds single family homes in Conroe/Montgomery County area in communities that include Lake Conroe Forest, Chateau Woods, Royal Forest, Frontier Lakes and Holly Estates.

The official launch of this construction project was held on October 1 with a ceremonial groundbreaking at the site.

HomeAid was started in 2003, and the first shelter was dedicated in 2005.  Since then, 73 projects have been completed, adding and impacting over 1750 beds and providing over 1.3 million nights of sleep.  This is a 15.8 million dollar added value in housing and improvements.  Annually, HomeAid’s projects serve over 5000 homeless men, women, children and veterans in Houston.
