HomeAid’s annual Project Playhouse fundraiser is excited to announce that Project Playhouse “Union Station”, engineered and built by Legend Homes, has moved full-steam-ahead with its final stop at Minute Maid Park during the Houston Astros home games through August 20th in Section 152 on the Concourse Level. Legend Homes’ “Union Station” is being represented by signage and also showcased in a video clip on the Astros Jumbotron. Fans can also purchase tickets there and take photos.
The winning ticket will be drawn on August 20th with the key presentation to the playhouse on the ball field on August 25th.
The “Union Station” Playhouse features several first-class amenities, such as air conditioning, a television, a window seat, toy storage, a play table, a rock-climbing wall and slide, and a rooftop deck with a telescope.
This annual Project Playhouse fundraiser is a charitable collaboration with the Astros Foundation that has raised over $1 million since its inception in 2006.
“The “Union Station” design is inspired by Minute Maid Park’s iconic Union Station that is reminiscent of the charm and classic look of an actual train station,” said James Miller, president of HomeAid Houston. “HomeAid can’t thank Legend Homes and their vendors and suppliers enough for making this happen with their donations.”
Companies contributing to the construction of “Union Station” include Builders First Source who provided lumber and building materials; Backyard Paradise, who donated construction and building materials and Trophy Windows who donated the playhouse windows.
“Legend Homes is honored to have been selected as the builder for the 2021 Project Playhouse in conjunction with HomeAid Houston and the Astros Foundation,” said Legend Homes CEO Blake Roberts. “We’ve looked forward to the opportunity to work alongside both organizations to bring our love of homebuilding to this unique project that will positively impact the Houston community and the lives of Houston’s homeless.”
