HomeAid Partners with Other HomeAid Chapters to Collect Care Kits

On November 10, HomeAid Houston was one of 19 chapters across a 13- state area to participate in a Care Kit Outreach event.  HomeAid teamed with HomeAid Phoenix and HomeAid Orlando to assemble Care Kits with Taylor Morrison’s People Services Department. All three groups joined live via TEAMS for the event at the same time across 3 time zones.

Approximately 25 volunteers assembled nearly 900 care kits to be delivered to three agencies.  On November 16, 3 volunteers delivered about 120 care kits to The Women’s Home in Houston. Items in the Care Kits included shampoo/conditioner, soap bars, deodorant, razor, mouthwash and laundry detergent.

HomeAid Finalizes Thanksgiving Basket Drive

HomeAid’s Outreach Program was busy in November.  The popular Thanksgiving Basket Drive was a huge success with over 100 baskets delivered to families at Gracewood and SEARCH Homeless Services.  This program also helps raise awareness about Homelessness Awareness Month.

Each basket contained a $25 HEB gift card for a turkey, 1 foil turkey roaster pan, boxed stuffing, canned corn/green beans/mushroom soup/yams/cranberry sauce, canned or powdered gravy, fried onions, instant mashed potatoes, and non-perishable pumpkin spice flavored dessert.
