HomeAid Heroes is a unique HomeAid program that offers members of the Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA), including builders, developers, remodelers, mortgage companies, title companies and trades, an opportunity to give to HomeAid Houston to help fund construction projects, both large and small, that better the lives of the homeless community. As a HomeAid Hero, the company decides how they would like to contribute. Heroes can either donate a preset amount every time they celebrate a business milestone, whether it’s the sale of a home, a window installation, closing of a mortgage, etc. or simply donate a certain amount each quarter or year.
For builders and developers that could include the sale of a home or a lot; for Associate Members that could be the sale of windows, appliances, home warranties, the pre-construction survey, or floor coverings for instance, or it can even include the closing of a mortgage.
“These companies and individuals who make generous contributions are our Heroes,” explained Jim Muska, 2020 president of HomeAid. “Their willingness to share funds they’ve raised within their trade, is indicative of their unwavering commitment and support to better the lives of the men, women children and veterans HomeAid serves. We are grateful to every one of these organizations and individuals who continue to participate.”
HomeAid Heroes in 2020 were 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, ASID – Texas Gulf Coast Chapter, Bank of America, Builders Post-Tension, Chesmar Homes, Datasmart/Duncan Security, Eklektik Interiors, Greymark Construction, Long Lake Ltd./Woodmere Development Company, Loyd Russel Homes, Newmark Homes, Ryko Development, Inc., Stanley Sales Co. LLC, TARACORP, TONER Home Matters, Trendmaker Homes and Winfrey Design Build.
“Builders Post-Tension has been a HomeAid supporter for over 15 years,” said Greg Tomlinson, president of Builders Post-Tension. “The HomeAid Heroes Program is set up to make it easy for a company such as ours to commit to donations as we work throughout the year. It is an easy way to give back to those less fortunate.”
“One of the best feelings in the world is giving,” said McCalle Fryar with 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty. “Gifting back to the community through HomeAid lets me know that lives will be changed for the better; that single mothers and their children will have a fresh start, or children in crisis will be loved and nurtured. It’s no secret that your greatest gift, is the ability to share your blessings.”
