Jacob joined the HomeAid board in 2017 and for many years prior to that, she contributed her talents to HomeAid Houston through overseeing HomeAid Care projects as Builder Captain, which grew her love and appreciation for HomeAid’s mission, ‘to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education’. “I believe that we have a responsibility as individuals to help those in need,” said Jacob. “The opportunity to become involved in HomeAid years ago was such a blessing that fell into my lap. I never knew I was jumping into something that has such a positive impact and truly changes lives. 2022 will be an exciting and robust year for HomeAid Houston and I am thrilled to serve our community and our board as president of this chapter.”
HomeAid was started in 2003, and the first shelter was dedicated in 2005. Since then, over 70 projects large and small have been completed, adding over 400 beds and over 12 million dollars in real estate construction and improvements to Houston’s homeless community. Annually, HomeAid’s projects serve over 5000 homeless men, women, children and veterans in Houston.
