Fort Bend Women's Center
HomeAid Houston is returning to Fort Bend Women's Center with Wamhoff Development to assist with Phase II of the agency's multiple-phase construction project. The project will include building a 3,225 square foot, one-bedroom fourplex.
Fort Bend Women's Center provides free, integral support services for domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking survivors. The agency offers 24-hour emergency shelter and a crisis hotline, as well as long-term support services, including counseling, case management, legal advocacy, employment and education assistance, children’s services, rape crisis services, rental assistance, and transportation. The agency's programming focuses on healing the trauma of their abuse and moving forward to live independently, free of violence and fear. Over the past ten years, Fort Bend Women's Center has served survivors with increasingly complex emotional, psychological, and physical needs. Many have experienced abuse throughout their lives, suffered Traumatic Brain Injury, most have at least one child to support, and 97 percent are at or below the Federal Poverty Level. Fort Bend Women's Center's services are helping save lives every day.
