Agape Development

HomeAid Houston, the Greater Houston Builders Association's Remodelers Council, Third Coast Builders, and Whodid It Designs joined together to renovate Agape Development's Gateway homes. The project included repairing the driveway, foundation, and drywall, redesigning the kitchen flow, installing energy efficient windows and laminate wood flooring, remodeling the front porch and side entrance, and providing new kitchen appliances.

Agape Development, located within Houston’s historic Third Ward, assists children and young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness or in crisis by providing a pathway to success. Agape Development offers afterschool programs and events and an array of services. Agape Development's Gateway Program assists young adults, ages 18 to 25, transition to healthy adulthood. These individuals are not only able to support themselves through gainful employment but are also able to support their community through volunteering, church membership, and active community involvement. Agape Development’s Gateway Program provides individuals with housing, utilities, food, and transportation while offering counseling, job preparation, and guidance for continued education.
